Vicsport and Sports Marketing Australia (SMA) have formed a new partnership to help Sporting Organisations and Local Government Authorities (LGAs) find the right destination and financial support for events.
SMA has a relationship base of 950 state, national and international sporting organisations and uses its relationships with more than 60 LGAs and tourism groups in Australia and New Zealand. As many as 590 state, national and international events were successfully placed through SMA in 2022 and the Grants Writing Team secured funding worth over $2.5 million for Councils and Event Owners.
“This is an exciting partnership for Vicsport as the services provided by Sports Marketing Australia offer benefits for the entire sports industry,” said Vicsport CEO, Lisa Hasker. “Not only does SMA assist organisations in finding the best location and support for events, they also draw interest and funding to local LGAs which helps to grow the sports tourism industry.”
SMA Director, Craig Gibson, said SMA had a strong track record and welcomed the opportunity to work closely with Vicsport and its members to expand and develop events tourism in the state.
