Sports Marketing Australia (SMA) has placed the PPA Tour and Major League Pickleball Australia for the Brisbane Open (BEDA) in 2025, with more tournament options available for 2026 and 2027.

PPA has grown from three tournaments in 2023 to six in 2024 and SMA is looking to double that figure again, placing 12 big events for the PPA 2025 Tour Calendar. The Brisbane event will attract more than 400 participants.

The 2024 Australian Pickleball Championships were held with Experience Gold Coast this year and more than 1,200 players took part. Competition is divided into Pro, Open, Masters, Juniors and Pro Teams (Major League Pickleball Australia). The Open division welcomes players of any age and intermediate skill level, making it accessible to emerging players who are keen to try competition.

This Gold Coast event was the second largest tournament outside of the USA with only the 2024 English Open attracting a larger participation base. Gold Coast will host the event until 2027.The PPA Melbourne Open 2024 was an exhilarating finish to the season’s second tour held last month at Centenary Park with a record-breaking prize pool of over $124,000.
