Breathe. Move. Connect. Be inspired.
The City of Bunbury and Hawke’s Bay burst into life recently as health and wellbeing devotees from across Western Australia and New Zealand travelled to these beautiful regions to enjoy a weekend of yoga, wellness, movement, mindfulness and connection.
This year’s Bunbury Yoga, Health & Wellness Festival brought together a diverse line-up of teachers, practitioners and wellness experts for a dynamic program of 39 classes, held across 3 spaces for more than 400 participants, offering something for everybody, at every level. Meanwhile, the Hawke’s Bay Yoga Festival in New Zealand featured a record 77 classes, across 6 different spaces, with 63 Instructors and a record 652 attendees.
SMA places a range of Yoga Health and Wellness Festivals across Australia and internationally every year, achieving significant tourism outcomes.
Supported by City of Bunbury and placed through SMA’s Event Placement Program, the festival attracted a wide range of wellbeing enthusiasts, with more than 85% of participants travelling to the region from outside of the Bunbury area. The event sold out and was at full capacity in 2026, with plans to grow the event in 2027 building the overall capacity of the festival.
Held at the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre, the festival included a line-up of internationally recognised and local Yoga instructors, wholistic wellness coaches, meditation experts, sound massage therapists, psychic healers and a range of stalls showcasing a unique range of products and services designed to help participants heal and grow.
Festival Director, Rosie Richards, said: “We want people to transcend daily life and activate new beginnings as our talented teachers and mentors guide participants through practices that nourish body, mind and soul,” Rosie said. “Participants enjoyed a wide variety of experiences including dynamic vinyasa flow, hatha yoga, mindful movement, yin yoga, deeply restorative practices like yoga nidra, breathwork, pranayama, kundalini practices, sound healing and sound baths. Additional wellness and transformational workshops also proved to be a success over the weekend.”
The Hawke’s Bay Yoga Festival proved the popularity of wholistic health and wellbeing events. Described as an epic weekend of yoga, Rosie said this was the biggest event of its kind to be held in Hawkes Bay, and it was wonderful to be back in the region and to feel that incredible sense of community. “It’s clear just how much this event means to everyone and we absolutely love seeing the community come together to share, move, connect and enjoy the weekend,” she said.
Health and Wellness Festivals are growing in popularity across Australia and internationally every year.
