Bunbury (WA) will host the Rumble Am Series Skateboarding event for the next three years as part of a new event tourism opportunity worth over $450,000 to the region and involving the Australian Skateboarding Community Initiative (ASCi) and the Australian Skateboarding Federation (ASF).
The event is sanctioned by the Australian Skateboarding Federation and is an official qualifying round for the ASF National Championships at the Rumble on the Reef. The Rumble Series is recognised as the market leader in professional skateboarding events in Australia.
The action will take place at the Koolambidi Woola Youth Precinct, where the City of Bunbury in conjunction with Playce (design consultants) were recently successful in winning two awards at the Parks and Leisure Australia 2023 Regional Awards of Excellence.
The Rumble Series and the Rumble Am Series were developed to provide a scheduled national series for serious skateboarders in Australia. The event owner specialises in the disciplines of street-skating, rather than bowl or vert-skating and utilises the best elements of selected skateparks.
The series will offer ongoing events throughout the calendar year which skaters can attend as part of their pathway to becoming elite, professional skateboarders in what is now a well-respected Olympic sport.
SMA Partnerships Manager, Steffan Jurd, said the Bunbury Rumble Am Series would target local, intrastate and interstate skaters, as it develops its reputation and builds into one of the country’s premier amateur skating events.
