Sports Marketing Australia (SMA) is working in partnership with SportAccord and the West Midlands Growth Company to support Australian and New Zealand stakeholders and other businesses attending the SportAccord World Sport & Business Summit in Birmingham, in the UK this month. 

SportAccord 2024 is a unique event being held from 7th – 11th of April where the worlds of sport and business converge to exchange ideas, reconnect and make new contacts. SMA is the In Market Representative and is working with SportAccord and the West Midlands Growth Company to promote the importance of this event.

During December and January, SMA delivered a series of information sessions for the Australian and New Zealand market in partnership with SportAccord on the Summit. The information sessions attracted a considerable amount of interest with a wide sector of Government, Education, Sport Business, International and National Sporting Organisations joining from across Australia and New Zealand.

The Summit attracts more than 1,500 leaders from 125 International Federations, the International Olympic Committee, all levels of government and the key decision makers involved in the business of world sport. The event provides a platform for national sporting organisations, government and sports businesses in Australia and NZ to learn, connect and take advantage of the opportunities on offer in the lead up to the 2032 Brisbane Olympic and Paralympic Games.

SMA General Manager, Partnerships and Commercial – International, Corey Bell, was the City of Gold Coast lead for the last SportAccord Summit in 2019 and said the event provided an unrivalled platform allowing global business leaders and host cities access to International Federations and their stakeholders in one location over several days.
