Mid-Western Regional Council has joined SMA’s Events Placement Program with several exciting opportunities lined up including the 2024 NSW Rugby U11’s State Gala and the 2025 Swimming NSW Country Regional Meet – Mountains & Plains. Mid-Western Regional Council is located just 3 hours from Sydney and offers premium facilities at the Glen Willow Regional Sports Complex. The council has extensive experience in hosting major events and the region offers plenty of accommodation and unique regional tourism attractions. One of the regional highlights is the Glen Willow Regional Sports Complex featuring a 10,000 capacity stadium, 14 premium playing pitches, modern amenities and ample parking, all within walking distance of Mudgee’s town centre. Additionally, the council has committed to the development of a High Performance Centre located within the Glen Willow Regional Sports Complex which will feature dormitory accommodation with 96 beds, a high performance gym, meeting rooms, a commercial kitchen and dining room. Mudgee, a tourism hotspot, is the third largest grape-producing region in NSW with diverse tourism attractions and a dynamic food and wine culture, as well as immersive outdoor adventure opportunities. SMA’s Managing Director, Craig Gibson, said the region was a great destination with plenty to offer event owners and participants. “The events attracted and hosted within this region will provide significant economic benefits, including exposure to new audiences, branding benefits through event hosting and strong community outcomes like employment,” Craig said. “SMA is excited to be partnering with Mid-Western Regional Council.” To find out more, contact Steffan Jurd on 0414 953 332.
