Edward River Council will host the gripping PGA of Australia (NSW) Pro-Am Series in September promoting the region across a wide tourism platform.
The event will be held at Deniliquin Golf Course and will include some of the heroes of golf. Managed by the PGA of Australia and operated by local Golf Clubs, the Pro-Am is part of the prestigious golf event circuit for professional golfers.
SMA Partnerships Manager, Steffan Jurd, said the event offered an opportunity to witness top performing golfers and offered extensive branding and destination marketing benefits, which assisted in attracting more golf tourism.
“Pro-Am events are excellent drivers of return visitation because they are showcasing a region’s golf courses to the wider golfing community and promoting recreational tourism outside of the event duration and providing further economic benefits beyond a one-off event,” he said. “This tour is exceptional and visits a range of stunning regions with events at different golf courses.”
SMA specialises in event placement. This tour is expected to attract more than 200 participants into the Edward River region with an economic benefit of more than $121,380 for two days.
