The Federation of International Touch (FIT) hosted its annual Member Forum in Singapore last month with Sports Marketing International (SMI) providing conference planning assistance and a keynote address on the importance of commercial partnerships.
This was the first official project managed under Sports Marketing International (SMI), just weeks after SMI’s official launch in Brisbane with industry leaders.
SMI’s General Manager for Partnerships and Commercial – International, Corey Bell, spoke at the forum and met with the leaders in Touch to identify new ways to grow the sport globally through critical strategic commercial partnerships. Representatives from more than 20 member nations attended including the Chair of England Touch, Tim Loverage, TFA CEO, Jamie O’Connor and Chair of Touch NZ, Stephen Upton.
FIT is the international governing body for the sport of Touch and the forum at the Mercure Singapore Bugis attracted more than 50 delegates. It provided direct engagement with official representatives from National Touch Organisations (NTOs) worldwide, positioning these leaders as crucial decision-makers who are shaping the sports’ future.
Director of FIT, Peter Topp, said the forum provided the opportunity for discussion and agreement on the International Touch calendar for the next 8 years. He said the conference focussed on discussions about global development, business strategies, technical advancements and the promotion of inclusivity and gender equity.
“The 2024 forum provided direct access to those key decision makers in the sport and provided an opportunity for all participants to connect and grow their global network with contacts from around the world – all in the one location,” Mr Topp said. “I look forward to growing the partnership with SMI as both organisations navigate the global sporting market”.
SMI is assisting FIT with commercial partnerships internationally through the assets they own, including the Touch World Cup. SMI can help your sporting organisation, get in touch by e-mailing corey@sportsmarketing.com.au
